Former minister Deepak Joshi has returned to BJP. He had campaigned in favor of Congress four days ago. Deepak Joshi had sought votes for Congress candidate Rajkumar Patel.

Former minister Deepak Joshi, son of former Chief Minister Kailash Joshi, has returned to BJP. He joined BJP in Nandner of Budhni assembly constituency in front of Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

About one and a half years ago, during the assembly elections, Deepak Joshi had ended relations with BJP and turned to Congress. At that time, Congress chief ministerial candidate Kamal Nath himself had given him membership.

Former minister Deepak Joshi had announced to join BJP on November 4, while four days before that he had addressed a meeting in Budhni assembly constituency in favor of Congress. During this time, he had asked for votes for Congress candidate Rajkumar Patel in the by-election and said that he should win with an overwhelming majority.

Defeat in Congress and return to BJP

Eight months ago, the program of Deepak Joshi’s return to BJP was almost fixed, but in the end it was postponed. There was no consensus in the party regarding his return. Deepak Joshi had joined Congress before the elections. Contested the assembly elections from Khategaon seat on Congress ticket. However he lost by 12,542 votes.
