A moving CNG car caught fire on Narmadapuram Road in the city on Friday evening. In this incident that took place near Ashima Mall, it was fortunate that the people in the car parked the car on its side and got down in time, due to which there was no loss of life. According to the information, at around 7 pm on Friday evening, a car was passing through Narmadapuram Road. Just when she had reached in front of Ashima Mall, flames started coming out of it. Seeing this, the driver immediately took the car to the roadside and parked it and he along with his companions got down and went away.
Within no time the flames started increasing and the entire car became a ball of fire. On receiving the information, a fire engine from Kolar Fire Station reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. By the time firefighters brought the fire under control, the car was completely gutted. The cause of fire in the car has not been known.
