Geological movements, tremors along with explosions in the villages on the banks of Narmada in Madhya Pradesh.

There is an atmosphere of fear among the people due to the stir that has been going on for a fortnight in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The administration took advice from experts in this matter, in which they told that this situation is being created due to collision of plates.

Geological movements have been taking place in the villages on the banks of Narmada in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh for the last 15 days. A banging sound is heard along with the vibration. The administration has taken advice from experts. Experts say that after the monsoon, geological movement occurs due to the collision of plates in the area adjacent to the Narmada River.

According to the administration, geological movements have been reported in villages like Akalghara, Kilora, Kosariya, Attha, Sirkhadi, Mankhada etc. The people of these villages told that on October 30, at 7.18 pm, a loud explosion was heard. Even before this, such sounds had come with slight vibration. There is constant fear among people due to such geological events.

The utensils fell with the sound of the explosion.

Sondwa Sub-Collector CG Goswami said that geological movements have been reported in some villages. When a team was sent to the spot for investigation, during the investigation, along with the sound of explosion, utensils also fell in a house.

When experts were consulted about this, they said that it is not an earthquake, it is just a geological movement. In the areas adjacent to Narmada, such incidents occur due to collision of geological plates after monsoon. Experts are being consulted in this regard. Villagers have also been asked to remain alert.

Similar incidents had happened three years ago also

Geological movements were seen in these villages on the banks of Narmada three years ago in 2021 also. Due to this, cracks had appeared in the walls of many houses, then the experts of Geological Survey of India, after investigation, in their report given to the district administration, had said that geological explosions occur due to the pressure created due to rise in groundwater level after monsoon.

This also causes vibration for a few seconds. In the report given by geoscientist Abhishek Tiwari and his team, it was also said that the groundwater level goes down during summer. During this period air accumulates in the empty space.

Ground water level increases due to rain

With the arrival of monsoon, the groundwater level starts rising due to rain. In such a situation, pressure is generated in the air collected here. Due to this, a slight vibration is felt along with the bang in rocky areas. This lasts only for a few seconds. At the same time, in the year 2019-20 also, some such cases were reported in the Narmada coastal area of Barwani district.
