Jashpurnagar Police has arrested three accused including a city constable in the case of embezzling Rs 5 lakh on the pretext of doubling the amount.
The matter is of Narayanpur police station area of the district. This has been done by the victim in Jashpur police station. In the complaint, Hameed Ansari, a resident of Revatipur of Ramchandrapur police station area of Balrampur district, has said that he was acquainted with the accused Ansar Ansari, a resident of Takiya Mazar of Ambikapur Kotwali police station area of Surguja district.
On October 29, the accused Ansar described it as a scheme and said that if you invest Rs 5 lakh in this scheme, you will get a return of Rs 8 lakh within a week. Falling under the influence of the vicious person, the victim borrowed Rs 3 lakh from his acquaintance Shyam Guruji and Rs 50 thousand from Ramzan and along with his own savings of Rs 1.5 lakh, he gave Rs 5 lakh to the accused and reached Durgapara in a rented car.
Here he met a person named Tohid Khan. After taking the money, Ansar Ansari and Tauheed Khan started moving ahead on the bike and the victim was following in the car. Suddenly the speed of the bike increased and both the criminals disappeared from sight.
According to the victim, he called the accused Ansar several times but Ansar did not receive the call. After some time, Ansar told the victim that unknown people had looted Rs 5 lakh from him near Atal Chowk in Narayanpur.
The victim alleges that Ansar Ansari and Tauheed Khan are conspiring to extort Rs 5 lakh from him on the pretext of robbery. On receiving information about the robbery, SP Shashi Mohan Singh directed Narayanpur police to investigate the matter.
Narayanpur police took action and detained Ansar Ansari, the mastermind of this entire case, for questioning. During interrogation, Ansar Ansari revealed the entire truth of the conspiracy to cheat Rs 5 lakh.
Mastermind Ansar Ansari told that after taking the money from the victim, he ran away fast on the bike and as per the pre-planned plan, reached the city constable Abhyajit Kujur and paralegal volunteer Basant Yadav. The three accused divided the money seized from Hamid Ansari.
Taking action in the case, Narayanpur police registered a crime under section 318 (4), 62 (2) of the Indian Justice Code against city soldier Abhyajit Kujur, 35 years, paralegal volunteer Bansat Yadav, 37 years, and master mind Ansar Ansari, 45 years. Arrested and sent to jail in judicial custody.
