24 killed, 19 injured in Israeli air strike on Lebanon

Israeli airstrikes killed 24 people and injured 19 in eastern and southern parts of Lebanon on Thursday. This information was given by Lebanese government and military sources.

According to Lebanese military sources, Israeli warplanes and drones carried out 35 airstrikes in southern Lebanon and 12 in the eastern part. One of these attacks targeted a motorcycle in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon. Relief teams in Lebanon, such as Civil Defense, the Lebanese Red Cross and the Islamic Health Authority, are still clearing debris from destroyed homes and searching for missing people.

Military sources say that clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces continue for the third day. Israeli forces are trying to advance from the eastern edge to the center of Khiyam village, but so far they have not been able to reach the center of Khiyam. Khiyam is considered a major stronghold of Hezbollah, located on the border with southern Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah said in its statement that its members attacked several Israeli targets with rockets. According to Xinhua news agency, military sources said that the Lebanese army saw dozens of rockets and artillery shells fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel and the eastern and southern banks of Khiam.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, Israeli strikes have killed 2,867 people and injured 13,047 since the war began on October 8, 2023.

Since September 23, the Israeli military has increased airstrikes on Lebanon due to tensions with Hezbollah. This month, Israel crossed its northern border and started ground operations in Lebanon.
