Preparations for the by-election of Raipur South Assembly are gaining momentum. Both the major parties, Congress and BJP, are focusing their strategies on wards and booths. Congress state president has called a meeting of councilors, while BJP MP Brijmohan Aggarwal is busy campaigning for candidate Sunil Soni.
The battle in the south is now becoming even more interesting. As the election time is approaching, both the candidates are preparing their respective strategies and focusing on the wards. On the other hand, MP and former minister Brijmohan Aggarwal himself has entered the fray for candidate Sunil Soni in this battle.
He is also continuously visiting the wards and uniting the councilors along with the booth workers and also taking meetings with the community heads. Both the candidates are asking for votes by going to narrow streets and meetings are also being organized so that they can woo people towards them. For this, both the candidates are adopting every trick.
Entry of star campaigners after Diwali
After Diwali, the campaign phase will gain momentum and after this there will be entry of star campaigners. A list of more than three dozen star campaigners is ready for BJP. At the same time, from the Congress side, the organization’s officials along with former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and other former ministers are also considered certain to contest.
Independent and other candidates still silent
Apart from BJP and Congress, no other candidates have entered the battle in the South yet. At the same time, after scrutiny, nominations of 12 candidates have been canceled, while three candidates have withdrawn their names so far.
