Chitrakoot will become the ninth new tehsil in Satna district, will take shape after November 24


A new tehsil named Chitrakoot will be formed in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, which will be effective from November 24. Majhgawan tehsil will be divided and 111 villages of 34 Patwari circles will be included in it. The objective of the new tehsil is to make the administration proper and effective.

Chitrakoot will be a new tehsil in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. The Revenue Department has issued a notification for this. This new tehsil will take shape after November 24. For this, Majhgawan tehsil will be divided and its nine Patwari divisions of Revenue Inspector Division Chitrakoot and 25 Patwari Divisions of Revenue Inspector Division Baraundha, in this way a total of 34 Patwari divisions comprising of 111 villages will be included in the new Tehsil Chitrakoot.

Division of Majhgawan Tehsil

Uttar Pradesh will lie in the northern border of the proposed Chitrakoot tehsil, while Tehsil Majhgawan and Tehsil Panna will lie in the southern border. Uttar Pradesh and Majhgawan tehsil will fall on the eastern border and Ajaygarh tehsil of Uttar Pradesh state and Panna district will fall on the western border. Chitrakoot will become the ninth tehsil of Satna district. Upon formation of the new tehsil, 21 Patwari circles will be left in Majhgawan tehsil which will include 101 villages.

Ninth tehsil of Satna

The purpose of creating new tehsil Chitrakoot is said to be to administer the area properly and effectively. At present there are eight tehsils in Satna district namely Raghurajnagar, Majhgawan, Nagaud, Rampur Baghelan, Uchehra, Kotar, Birsinghpur and Kothi tehsils. Chitrakoot will be the ninth tehsil of Satna district.
