Candidates of BJP and Congress have filed nomination papers for Vijaypur Assembly by-election in Sheopur. BJP’s Ramniwas Rawat owns assets worth crores, while Congress’s Mukesh Malhotra has assets worth lakhs. There is a big difference between the two leaders on the basis of wealth.
Main rivals BJP and Congress candidates have filed nomination papers for the by-election on Vijaypur assembly seat. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on 28th October, names can be withdrawn till 30th October. According to the property details filed with the nomination papers, BJP candidate Ramniwas Rawat is seen to have an upper hand over Congress candidate Mukesh Malhotra.
Rawat has assets worth crores
While Ramniwas Rawat has been a minister in the Congress government, Mukesh Malhotra has been a minister in the BJP government. Now both are in the electoral fray with party change. According to the affidavit, BJP candidate Ramniwas Rawat has 4.003 hectares of ancestral land, whose market value is crores of rupees, along with a pucca house in his home village Mandi Vijaypur, he also has two houses in Bhopal. Their price is in lakhs.

Talking about Congress candidate Mukesh Malhotra, according to the affidavit, he earns his living by farming on half share. He has a kutcha house in Silpuri, while a pucca house is built in Karahal. Its price is in lakhs of rupees. There is a bike, scooter, pickup vehicle and a Thar vehicle. Malhotra has declared assets worth Rs 44 lakh 75 thousand 434, while his wife has assets worth Rs 2 lakh 22 thousand. In the name of jewellery, there is 10 grams of gold and one kg of silver jewellery.

Madhya Pradesh Congress media department chairman Mukesh Nayak has now been made media in-charge for Jharkhand assembly elections.
