A middle-aged man who had gone to the forest for defecation was attacked by a tiger in the early hours of Sunday, due to which he is in critical condition. All three are admitted in the district hospital in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. On Saturday evening, a woman who was grazing cattle in the forest was attacked and injured by a tiger. The third incident took place in Bhaga village, where a young man was attacked by a tiger while coming home from the farm.
The terror of both tiger and leopard is increasing in the forests of Jaitpur and Gohparu forest range of the district, due to which people are scared. The tiger has attacked and injured three people in 24 hours. The threat of two tigers has been going on in the Gohparu forest area for the last several days.
People returning after picnic attacked, three including policeman injured
At present there is fear of leopard and tiger in the district. Many people have been attacked in the forest of Gohparu and Jaitpur forest range. On Sunday evening, a leopard had reached the Shobhaghat of Khetauli in Sohagpur, due to which the picnickers there got scared.
Seeing the crowd the leopard changed its movement
Seeing the crowd of people, the leopard changed its movement from there but from the other side attacked a group of people returning after having a picnic.
Many were injured, all were brought to the medical college.
In this attack, police radio transmitter assistant sub-inspector Nitin Samdaria (35), Akash Kushwaha (23), resident of Purani Basti Shahdol and Nandini Singh (25), resident of village Khatauli, were injured. After the incident everyone was brought to the medical college.
Bitten one thigh and attacked the other with claws
The leopard first attacked one of Akash’s thighs and bit it, then attacked the other thigh with its claws. Nandini was most injured in the attack. The leopard attacked his head with such force that the skull on one side of his head was turned upside down.

Akash Kushwaha, who was slightly injured in the leopard attack, said that about 50 to 60 of us had gone to Shobha Ghat in Khetauli for a picnic. After around 4.00 pm, everyone was moving back towards their car after eating, when suddenly a leopard was seen.
