No ticket required to reach the people of Budhni, Shivraj’s son Karthikeya

Kartikeya Chauhan, son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, said that he had never aspired for a ticket from Budhni assembly seat. Earlier this seat was represented by Shivraj Singh Chauhan only. BJP on Saturday had announced the name of its candidate for Budhni and Vijaypur seats for the assembly by-elections to be held in the state. The names of former Budhni MP Ramakant Bhargava and former Congress leader Ramnivas Rawat from Vijaypur were announced.

Let us tell you that this by-election on Budhni seat is being held due to the resignation of Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The reason for resigning was his winning the Lok Sabha elections from Vidisha seat. After this he became a Union Minister. Political experts have been speculating that Karthikeya was one of the contenders for the ticket from Budhni. The reason behind this was said to be that his father had been representing this seat for five consecutive terms since 2006.

When asked about Bhargava’s nomination, Karthikeya said that there is a double engine government in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. He said when Bhargava is given the ticket, it becomes a ‘triple engine’ as he is a senior and experienced leader. Karthikeya said that it is appropriate to field Bhargava. We have contested many elections under his leadership. He is an experienced leader.

He said as far as inclusion of my name in the panel of candidates is concerned, I never worked with the intention of getting a ticket. I don’t need a ticket to reach the people of Budhni. I have worked as a common worker for him, the party and the ideology. I will continue to work like this in future also.
