During the procession of Mata Mahakali in Dhuma, three people died and five were injured after coming in contact with high tension electrical wires. At the time of the incident, the chariot passed near the wires, due to which the current spread. The injured were admitted to Lakhnadon Civil Hospital.
Three people died after coming in contact with high tension electrical wires during the procession of Mata Mahakali at Dhuma in the district at around 4 pm on Thursday evening. Five people have been injured. The injured have been admitted to Lakhnadon Civil Hospital for treatment.
Lakhnadon SDOP Apoorva Bhalavi said that a moving ceremony was being organized in the evening for the immersion of the 21 feet high statue of Mata Mahakali in Dhuma. Meanwhile, while bringing an empty chariot of Mata Mahakali from the stadium, the chariot passed near the high tension wires. Due to this, some youth got burnt due to electric current spreading in the chariot.
People immediately helped the injured and admitted them to Civil Hospital Lakhnadon. Here the doctors declared three people dead after investigation. Five injured are being treated. After the incident, the relatives of the deceased are in bad condition and crying.

CM expressed condolences
State Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed condolences on the Dhuma incident. He has tweeted that in Lakhnadaun tehsil of Seoni district, sad news has been received of untimely death of 3 people due to electrocution after their tractor trolley came under the influence of high tension line. Express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. The Chief Minister has given instructions to provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the relatives of the deceased through voluntary donations. The district administration has been directed for proper treatment of those injured in the accident.
