IAS Ranu Sahu arrested in Chhattisgarh’s DMF scam, ED makes second arrest in three days

The Raipur unit of ED (Enforcement Directorate) on Thursday arrested IAS officer Ranu Sahu in the alleged District Mineral Fund (DMF) scam of Chhattisgarh.

The ED investigation revealed that Ranu Sahu committed huge irregularities in the DMF during his tenure as the District Magistrate of Raigarh and Korba districts during the previous Congress government in the state. During this period, he took huge bribe from the contractors in exchange for the work allotted under DMF.

Let us tell you that Sahu is a suspended IAS officer, who was already in judicial custody in the alleged coal scam case registered by the state’s ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau).

Earlier on October 15, the agency had also arrested another woman officer of Chhattisgarh government, Maya Warrier, in the same case. The special court has ordered to keep him in ED custody till October 22.
