Ruckus over fertilizer: MLA sat on strike in Jaura for DAP, Tehsildar and SDM distributed fertilizer.

There is a shortage of DAP and urea fertilizers in Morena, due to which farmers have to stand in long lines since morning. MLA Pankaj Upadhyay staged a protest against the delay and shortage in fertilizer distribution. The Collector assured to provide adequate fertilizer in the next two-three days.

DAP and Urea are not helping in reducing the shortage of fertilizers. Due to which farmers start lining up at fertilizer distribution centers as early as five in the morning. First the farmer is struggling with the queue of slips, then the queue of fertilizer. Despite this, it is not necessary to get fertilizer even after getting the slip.

MLAs sit on strike

Thousands of farmers reached Morena agricultural produce market on Monday. On which Tehsildar and SDM arrived with the police force. After which the fertilizer had to be distributed under his supervision. On the other hand, the situation was similar in Jaura Purani tehsil also. Seeing the problems of the farmers, MLA Pankaj Upadhyay sat on a dharna with the farmers on the spot.

When fertilizer tokens were being distributed to the farmers at the fertilizer distribution center in Jaura Old Tehsil premises, at the same time regional MLA Pankaj Upadhyay also reached with the farmers and expressed displeasure over the delay in fertilizer distribution and the small quantity of fertilizer being given to the farmers. Expressing this, they sat on strike.

Fertilizer is not available even in 7-8 days

MLA Upadhyay said that farmers are worried about fertilizers, Aadhaar cards are being collected, but they are not being given fertilizer tokens in sufficient quantity. Those who were given tokens last Tuesday and Wednesday are not being given fertilizer even after 7-8 days. At present, farmers need the most DAP fertilizer for farming, but the government administration is proving unsuccessful in providing it.

The MLA also alleged that the manure was blackened. Naib Tehsildar Shyam Singh and Revenue Inspector Satyendra Pandey reached the spot and said that fertilizer will be arriving in sufficient quantity soon.

Collector’s assurance

The MLA spoke to Collector Ankit Asthana over phone. On which the Collector said that in the next two to three days, sufficient quantity of DAP, SP, NP and Urea fertilizers will be available and will be distributed to the farmers. On the assurance of the Collector, the protest was ended by MLA Upadhyay.
