Drugs worth Rs 168 crore found again in Madhya Pradesh, 112 kg of Mephedrone recovered; 4 arrested


Once again a huge quantity of drugs have been recovered in Madhya Pradesh. Police have recovered 112 kg of narcotics worth about Rs 168 crore. Earlier, 907.09 kg of Mephedrone worth Rs 1814 crore was seized in Bhopal.

The Directorate of Revenue and Information (DRI) has busted a factory producing illegal mephedrone in the tribal-dominated Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh. Four people including the factory director have been arrested. A DRI official said on Sunday that narcotics with an estimated value of Rs 168 crore have been seized from the factory.

He told that this factory being operated in Meghnagar industrial area was investigated in the early hours of Saturday on the information of an informer. The official said that 36 kg of Mephedrone powder and 76 kg of liquid Mephedrone were seized from this factory. Also raw materials and equipment have been seized.

He said that the unit has been sealed. The official said that the value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around Rs 168 crore. He said that the samples taken from the factory were tested by a forensic science laboratory which confirmed the presence of Mephedrone.

Earlier, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Gujarat Police had busted a drug factory in the state capital Bhopal on October 5. 907.09 kg of Mephedrone was seized from there, whose estimated value is Rs 1814 crore.
