Two suspects arrested for the murder of former Maharashtra government minister Baba Siddiqui have claimed to be from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However, the police team is still trying to verify their claim. Also, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has not yet taken responsibility for this murder. NDTV gave this information quoting sources. Siddiqui case has raised questions regarding security before the assembly elections in Maharashtra. Baba Siddiqui was a big leader of Ajit Pawar’s faction NCP. Also, he was MLA from Bandra East three times.

Baba Siddiqui was shot in Bandra area of ​​Mumbai on Saturday. According to the report, six bullets were fired at the NCP leader when he was leaving his son’s office. The bullets hit Siddiqui in his stomach and chest due to which he died. Police suspect that this is a case of contract killing. A special team has been formed for further investigation. There were 3 suspects behind the firing on the occasion of Dussehra, out of which 2 have been arrested. The accused named Karnail Singh is from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap is from UP. The third accused is still absconding.

Police suspect that someone else was giving information to the attackers about Baba Siddiqui’s location. According to sources, both the accused have made some more revelations during police interrogation. He said that he was doing recce regarding the shooting spot in Bandra East for the last one month. Sources associated with the crime branch also said that the three accused reached the spot in an autorickshaw. Here they waited for Siddiqui to come out of the office and then started firing bullets. The police is currently investigating this murder from two angles. Firstly, Lawrence Bishnoi gang may be involved in this and secondly, there is suspicion of some dispute related to business.
