There has been a sharp reaction to the statement of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in which he had addressed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a “terrorist party”. Referring to the terrorist incidents during the Congress-led UPA government, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi accused the Congress of adopting a soft attitude towards the culprits of terrorism. He attacked the Congress, accusing it of being soft towards terrorist Afzal Guru and said that Sonia Gandhi had expressed sympathy for the terrorists killed in the Batla House encounter.
Sharing his views on social media, Joshi said, “Mallikarjun Kharge mistakenly called BJP a terrorist party. It was Sonia Gandhi who shed tears for the terrorists killed in Batla House. It was Congress which was soft towards Afzal Guru. It was Congress which repealed POTA in 2004. It was their Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who joined hands with the separatist terrorists.”
He said, “It is only during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that we have seen a significant decline in terrorist activities. Today Kashmiri youth do not have stones but jobs. As a senior leader, Kharge should re-examine his words.”
Let us tell you that Mallikarjun Kharge had recently criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kharge rejected Prime Minister Modi’s claim that Congress is controlled by urban Naxalites. Kharge accused the BJP of being linked to acts of violence against scheduled castes and tribals.
Kharge said, “Progressive people are being called urban Naxalites. This is his habit. His party BJP itself is a terrorist party. They do lynching. Members of the Scheduled Castes urinate in the mouth and rape the tribals. They also support those who commit these acts and then blame others.”
Kharge further said, “Wherever their government is in power, atrocities are committed against people belonging to scheduled castes, especially tribals. Then they talk about these atrocities.”
