In view of the increasing cases of cyber fraud in Madhya Pradesh, the police department is going to recruit cyber consultants for the first time. In the first phase, 26 posts will be filled, in which graduates or PG degree holders will be in Computer Science and IT. This initiative is expected to help in catching the fraudsters and recovering the defrauded amount.
After the rapid increase in the cases of cyber fraud in the state, for the first time, cyber consultants are going to be recruited in the police department to reach the network of fraudsters in the country and the world and arrest them. In the first phase, there will be recruitment on 26 posts. Consultants will have graduate or PG degree in Computer Science, IT etc. With their appointment, the work of catching cyber fraudsters and recovering the defrauded amount is expected to speed up.
Will get rid of situations like digital arrest
Till July this year, cyber thugs stole about Rs 300 crore from the people of the state, out of which only about 12 percent of the amount will be recovered. Apart from consultants, nine cyber commandos will also be posted in the state next year. They are being given six months training by the Union Home Ministry. Their services will prove useful in situations like digital arrest.
Recruitment process will start this year
Preparations are on to start the recruitment process for consultant posts this year. They will be entrusted with highly specialized work. As new cases of cyber crime are emerging, they will also be prepared to deal with them. Since they already have a background in computer science and IT field, it will be easier for them to deal with problems. Let us tell you, at present policemen from constable to inspector level have been trained and posted in cyber police stations and districts.
Consultant will do this work
- The work of detecting and improving hacking of software of government or private offices.
- To find out the methods of fraud incidents happening in places like Jamtara, Mewat, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Visakhapatnam, Guwahati etc. and suggest measures to prevent them.
- Analysis of cyber crime incidents, such as where and what types of crimes are being committed.
- Testing work in cyber crime forensic lab.
- To provide training to policemen in basic things.
- Providing technical support in making policies related to cyber crime.
