Noel Tata is the half brother of Ratan Tata. Tata Trust had two meetings on Friday. One meeting was held to pay tribute to Ratan Tata and the other meeting was held to appoint the new chairman. Let us tell you that Ratan Tata died late on Wednesday night in Mumbai. His funeral took place yesterday i.e. on Thursday.

66% stake in Tata Sons

With this appointment, Noel Tata has become the 11th chairman of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and the sixth chairman of Sir Ratan Tata Trust. Noel Tata, Naval H. Tata and Simon N. He is the son of Tata. Noel Tata was already a trustee of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust. These two trusts have 66% stake in Tata Sons. Tata Sons is the holding company of the diversified Tata Group.

Many names were in discussion

Apart from Noel, Mehli Mistry’s name was also doing the rounds as the chairman of Tata Trust. Mehli Mistry was considered a person close to Ratan Tata. He was playing an active role in Tata Trust since 2000. Let us tell you, Mehli Mistry is currently the trustee of both the major trusts of Tata. He was inducted in October 2022.
