Under the campaign being run by the Food Department in Indore, on Friday, two samples of Mawa and Paneer from Maa Rajeshwari Doodh Dahi Bhandar and Sweets located at Mahalaxmi Nagar, samples of Paneer and Ghee from Jai Ma Ambe Dairy located at Tulsi Nagar and Shree at Sukhdev Nagar Extension. Took a sample of sev from Namkeen and Sweets.
Incidents of adulteration are continuously coming to light in Indore district. Here adulterated food items are being sold in large quantities in the name of genuine ones. Last day, the Food Department had raided a warehouse on suspicion of adulterated ghee and took samples from there. Whose report found adulteration in ghee.
According to officials, last month the department had received information from the complainant that Ghee was being sold by a Rajasthan-based ghee manufacturing firm, Bal Gopal Dairy Products, Ranpur, Kota, through the marketing firm Shri Kuber Enterprises based in Sanchar Nagar, Indore.
After this, when the team reached the spot, the operator was not found to have any license to sell food items in the city. The operator showed the license of Jhabua address.
Mahashree brand adulterated ghee
The team had taken five samples of different packing of Mahashree brand cow and buffalo ghee in the establishment and seized 800 liters of ghee worth about Rs 5.40 lakh. The department has just received reports of two samples. In which ghee was found to be of sub-standard level. Other oils are mixed in ghee. Reports of three samples are yet to come.
Private lab had passed the samples
On being suspicious, the complainant got the test done in a renowned private lab located at MR-10, the report of which came after eight days and the ghee was declared to be genuine. Got it tested in another laboratory and its report came in three hours. Adulteration was found in it. That means, in collusion with many labs of the city, the adulterated samples are being declared as genuine. Adulteration in ghee was also found in the government lab.
No irregularities found in investigation of industrial units
Units dealing with medicinal and synthetic drugs suspected to be involved in drug abuse are being investigated in Indore district. Teams from various departments conducted a campaign to inspect industries for the second consecutive day.
More than 11 units were inspected in which no irregularities were found. In Khudail area, seven industrial units were inspected by drug inspector Alkesh Yadav and the joint inspection team of District Trade and Industry Center and Revenue Department under the leadership of SDM Gopal Verma.
SDM said that in the industrial units which were inspected, alcohol drugs licenses etc. issued by the Excise Department were checked. Narcotics related products were not found in all the units.
