Naxalites killed on suspicion of police informer in Chhattisgarh, death toll in one year reaches 51


Recently, 31 Naxalites were killed in an encounter by security forces in Chhattisgarh. Now a 55 year old man was murdered by Naxalites in Bijapur on suspicion of being a police informer. The name of the deceased has been identified as Kanhaiya Tati. Tati’s body was found near a government school in Poshanpalli village near Bhopalpatnam police station.

After getting information about the incident, the police team reached the spot. According to the information so far, Tati has been killed with a sharp weapon on the suspicion of being a police informer. After the murder, the Naxalites left the dead body near the school and ran away. The police have launched a search operation to nab the accused Maoists. Security forces said that he would be caught soon.

Police said that with this incident, 51 people have been killed by Naxalites so far this year at different places in Bastar division comprising seven districts including Bijapur. Due to this, common people are forced to live in fear. Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah had announced during his visit to the state that the country will be made free from Naxalites in the coming years. In this connection, the security forces had carried out a major incident. In this, 31 Naxalites were killed.

31 Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces on Narayanpur-Dantewada border in Chhattisgarh last Friday. Out of these, 22 Maoists have been identified so far and the bodies of the remaining nine Maoists are yet to be identified. The government had declared a reward of Rs 1.70 crore on these 22 Naxalites. Security forces expect more bodies to be found.
