A shocking case has come to light from Madhya Pradesh where a woman was kept hostage by her in-laws for 16 years. It is alleged that her in-laws did not even allow her to meet their children.
When the police got information about the case, they rescued the woman from their custody on Saturday. The incident took place in Bhopal city. The woman has been identified as Ranu Sahu. The woman’s father had lodged a complaint with the police regarding this.
Ranu was married in the year 2006. After this, from the year 2008, her in-laws did not allow her to meet her parents and started harassing her. Ranu was also kept away from her two children. Ranu’s in-laws’ neighbor had told Ranu’s father Kishan Lal Sahu that her health was deteriorating, after which her father lodged a complaint.
Police said that on the complaint of Ranu’s father, we registered an FIR and saved Ranu Sahu. An NGO also helped the police in this. At present Ranu is admitted in the hospital and further investigation is going on. It is being told that when Ranu was rescued, everyone was stunned to see her condition. The body had become a skeleton of bones and only skin was visible on it.
