Late Thursday night in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, two tanks of a goods train derailed on the track of Mumbai-Delhi rail route, one km away from Ratlam railway station. During this time, due to overturning of a tanker, diesel spilled out of the tanker was flowing into the drain. On Friday morning, as soon as people came to know that diesel was flowing into the drains, a crowd gathered. During this time people arrived with buckets, utensils and cans. People started filling the diesel flowing in the drains and taking it away. Whose video and photo have also surfaced.
A major accident took place on the Delhi-Mumbai railway route in Ratlam district late Thursday night. Here, two tankers of a goods train filled with diesel derailed on the Nagda railway route. The incident took place near Ghatla Bridge of Ratlam. Here the goods train is divided into two parts. Trains were stopped at stations around Ratlam near the accident and other trains including Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express were pulled out of the up line late in the night. On getting information about the incident, top officials including Ratlam Collector Rajesh Batham also reached the spot and officials were also called from Bangrod Indian Oil Depot. During this time, JCB was called and the surrounding trees and plants were removed. Except the derailleur wagon, the rest of the wagons were dispatched.

Due to leakage from the diesel tank of the goods train that overturned in the late night train accident, the railway officials made an announcement through the mike and alerted the people that no one should smoke beedis, cigarettes in the vicinity and stay away from the goods train. In view of the possibility of an accident, bags filled with sand were also ordered. RPF personnel remained deployed for security near the wagon. The causes of the accident are being investigated.
Regarding this incident, Collector Rajesh Batham says that the reasons for the accident are being investigated. The overturned wagon was removed after 7:30 am. At present the track at the spot has not been opened. Trains are being taken out from the up line. Two trains were also affected due to the accident. 5 trains were re-scheduled.
Ratlam DRM Rajneesh Kumar said that the incident took place at around 10 pm on Thursday night on the up track of Mumbai-Delhi railway route, one km away from Ratlam railway station. The goods train was going from Baroda to Makaniya depot near Bhopal. During this time, two wagons (tankers) derailed between the Ratlam e-cabin of the train. Delhi-Mumbai down line was affected due to the accident. 5 trains were re-scheduled. Cranes along with pipes and other equipment were also called to empty the diesel tank. The single line of the railway route was made operational at night itself and both the tracks were completely cleaned in the morning. During this period the power line was also damaged.
