Now CNG will be made from cow dung in Madhya Pradesh. The state’s first bio-CNG manufacturing unit is about to start. The CNG prepared from this will not only run the vehicles of Gwalior Municipal Corporation but there is also a plan to give it to the common people for use. This unit has been prepared in the state’s largest Lal Tipara Gaushala located in Gwalior. Today on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated this bio-CNG plant. During this time, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar and many ministers and officials were present in the program.
100 tonnes of dung is released every day
The state’s largest cow shelter run by the Municipal Corporation is in Lal Tipara, Gwalior. When its management was handed over to the saints a few years ago, it became the most ideal cow shed of the country. People come here to celebrate everything from their birthday to their marriage anniversary. Presently 9850 cows are housed in this cow shed. 100 tonnes of dung is produced here every day. With this, 2 tonnes of bio-CNG will be produced from the plant being established here. Saint Swami Rishabh Devanand, associated with the management of the cow shed, says that this is a unique initiative in any cow shed in Madhya Pradesh. Cow dung will really turn into money. The waste generated after gas generation will be sold for use in agriculture.
Total cost of building the plant was Rs 31 crore
It was told that this is the first bio plant of its kind in Madhya Pradesh. Municipal Corporation officials say that this is the first plant of its kind in the state to make gas from cow dung. Although there is already a bio-CNG plant in Indore, but wet waste is used for it. Whereas only cow dung will be used here. That too just cow dung. About Rs 31 crore has been spent on its establishment. This expense has been borne by Indian Oil Corporation.
At present the demand for bio CNG is more than normal CNG. Because bio CNG contains 95 percent methane. Whereas in normal CNG it is 90 percent. This is the reason why vehicles running on bio-CNG have higher mileage.
