Electricity department officials tried to disconnect the connections of defaulters, but consumers protested. The dues of a junk shop were more than Rs 1 lakh. When the electricity department officials arrived on Saturday to disconnect the connections of the defaulters, the consumers created a ruckus. The dues of the scrap shop in Gurandi had reached more than one lakh. When the officers disconnected the connection, the consumer threatened in the name of Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and MLA Abhilash Pandey. Its video has also gone viral on the internet. However, the officers did not listen and disconnected the connection when the dues were due.
According to the information, Superintending Engineer Sanjay Arora and Executive Engineer LK Namdev arrived with their team to take action to disconnect the connection. Sanjay Arora told that a consumer named Shakir had an outstanding bill of more than one lakh rupees. When he went to cut it, Azam Ali and Amjad Ali protested. In the video, the electricity company kept trying to put pressure on the officers against disconnecting consumer connections in the name of Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Central MLA Abhilash Pandey.
List of top 20 defaulters released
Action was taken against the top 20 defaulters in five divisions of the city. Officers have identified 500 defaulters against whom continuous action is being taken. Officers are also continuously freezing the bank accounts of the defaulters, after which some consumers have also deposited the bills.
