The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved an allocation of Rs. 79,156 crore (Central share: Rs. 56,333 crore and State share: Rs. 22,823 crore) for improving the socio-economic condition of tribal communities by adopting the target of saturation for tribal families in tribal dominated villages and aspirational districts. ) approved the Prime Minister Tribal Unnat Gram Abhiyan with a total outlay of Rs. As announced in the Budget Speech 2024-25, it will cover about 63,000 villages, benefiting more than 5 crore tribal people. This will include villages in 549 tribal dominated districts and 2,740 blocks of 30 states/union territories.
Under the said campaign, 284 tribal dominated villages of Shahdol district will be benefited.

63 villages of development block Sohagpur, 50 of Gohparu, 69 of Burhar, 54 of Jaisinghnagar and 48 villages of Vyahari will be benefited. According to the 2011 census, the population of Scheduled Tribes in India is 10.45 crore and there are more than 705 tribal communities across the country, who live in remote and inaccessible areas. Pradhan Mantri Tribal Unnat Gram Abhiyan aims to bridge the critical gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, livelihood through various schemes of Government of India and build on the learning and success of PM Janman (Pradhan Mantri Tribal Tribal Nyaya Maha Abhiyan) in tribal areas and To ensure holistic and sustainable development of communities. The mission consists of 25 programmes, which will be implemented by 17 ministries. Each Ministry/Department will be responsible for the implementation of the scheme in a time bound manner over the next 5 years through the funds allocated to them under the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Tribes (DAPST), so as to achieve the following objectives.

setting the infrastructure before

Pucca houses and other facilities for eligible families Eligible Scheduled Tribe (ST) families will get pucca houses with availability of tap water (Jal Jeevan Mission) and electricity supply (RDSS) under PMAY (Rural). Eligible ST families will also have access to Ayushman Bharat Card (PMJAY) Improvement in village infrastructure: Providing better all-weather road connectivity, mobile connectivity (Bharat Net) and internet access for ST majority villages (PMGSY), health, nutrition and ensuring infrastructure to improve education (NHM, holistic education and nutrition).

promote economic empowerment

Skill development Promoting entrepreneurship and improving livelihoods (self-employment) Providing access to training (Skill Bharat Mission/JSS) and ensuring that students from ST community have access to long-term skill courses after class 10th/12th every year Receive. Besides, providing assistance to FRA lease holders through marketing assistance, tourist home stay, agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries through Tribal Multipurpose Marketing Center (TMMC).
Universalization of access to good education
Education – To increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in school and higher education to the national level and to make quality education affordable and accessible to ST students (Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan) by establishing tribal hostels in schools at the district/block level.

Healthy life and dignified old age

Health – To ensure better access to quality health facilities for ST families, achieve national standards in Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and places where health sub-centres are more than 10 km away in plains and hilly areas. In areas beyond 5 km, there is coverage of vaccination through Mobile Medical Units (National Health Mission).

The tribal villages covered under this campaign will be mapped on the PM Gati Shakti portal and the concerned departments will find out the gaps in the requirements as per their plan. Physical and financial progress will be monitored on the PM Gati Shakti platform and best performing districts will be rewarded.
