A minor dispute that arose due to the beating of a person returning after participating in the BJP membership campaign two days ago in Maksi of Shajapur district of Madhya Pradesh took the form of violence on Wednesday late evening. Two parties came face to face and fired and pelted stones at each other. One person died of bullet injuries while many others are reported to be injured. Maksi Nagar Parishad President representative Mahendra Patel has also been injured in the stone pelting. There is heavy tension in the area due to which police force has been deployed.
It is said that on Monday late night, some people beat up Sameer Mev who was returning after participating in the BJP membership campaign in Baldi Mohalla. After getting information about the incident, the representative of the Municipal Council President, Mahendra Singh Patel, reached the spot with his workers. During this time, an atmosphere of tension was created. People from both the sides had gathered in large numbers at the police station.
The police had registered a case against some of the accused on the basis of a complaint regarding this assault incident. On Tuesday, people from the accused party reached the SP office in Shajapur and accused the police of taking unilateral action. After this, the situation became tense once again on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, people from both sides came face to face. Suddenly stone pelting and firing started. Four people were injured in this and were taken to the district hospital for treatment. The injured include Lucky, Junaid, Iqbal and Amjad. Two of them were referred to Indore as their condition was critical. Keeping security in mind, the police has converted the hospital premises into a cantonment. At present, the police is avoiding saying anything about this incident.
