Lokayukta Police Indore arrested Soujanya Joshi, Director of Self Employment Training Institute Barwani and his wife Jagriti Joshi red handed from their house while taking a bribe of Rs. 10,000 for payment of Rs. 1,93,167 towards the bill of breakfast and food of the trainees. According to Lokayukta SP Rajesh Sahay, the accused have been arrested on the complaint of the complainant Pinky, wife of Ghanshyam Pawar. The original post of accused Soujanya Joshi is that of a manager in Bank of India and he is on deputation here as the Director of Barwani Star Self Employment Training Institute.
He called the complainant to his house with the bribe money to pay the bill for food and snacks. When the complainant reached the house of accused Saujanya Joshi, his wife was also sitting with him and she told the complainant that how could such a huge amount be paid without commission. Then the accused told the complainant to give the money to her (accused’s wife). As soon as the complainant gave the money to the accused’s wife, he also signaled the Lokayukta team, on which the Lokayukta team immediately arrested both the husband and wife red-handed and registered a case against them under the Corruption Act.
According to the information received from the Lokayukta police, the complainant Pinky runs the Maa Vaishnavi Self Help Group. Under this, the complainant used to provide breakfast and lunch and evening meals to the trainees undergoing training in the canteen of Star Self-Employment Training Institute Barwani. A bill of Rs 1,93,167 for food from July 2024 to 20 August 2024 was given to Star Self-Employment Training Institute. When the complainant met Star Self-Employment Training Institute director Saujanya Joshi for bill payment, he demanded a commission of Rs 48,000 in lieu of bill payment. On Monday, a team led by Lokayukta DSP Dinesh Patel caught the accused Saujanya Joshi and his wife Jagriti Joshi red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000.
