Champions Trophy 2025 is to be held in Pakistan, but before that PCB may face a big blow

New Delhi
The Champions Trophy 2025 is to be held in Pakistan. But just before this, the Pakistan Cricket Board may get a big blow. A Test series is to be played between Pakistan and England from October 7. But according to reports, the media rights of this series have not been sold yet. In such a situation, the Pak-England Test series will not be able to be broadcast outside Pakistan. The PCB has placed a big demand for media rights, which no company has been able to fulfill so far.

According to a report in Cricket Pakistan, PCB has demanded $21 million for media rights for three years. If we look at it in Indian terms, it would be around Rs 175 crore. But PCB has not yet found a buyer who can pay that much. Two Pakistani companies together had made a proposal of $4.1 million. But PCB refused to sell the rights. Willow TV had made a proposal of $2.25 million. A foreign company Sports Five had made a proposal of $7.8 million. But the deal has not been finalized yet.

3 match test series will be played between Pakistan and England –
The Test series between Pakistan and England will be played from 7 October. Its first match will be held in Multan. The second match will be played in the same stadium from 15 October. The third and last match of the series will be held in Rawalpindi from 24 October.

Pakistan is preparing for Champions Trophy 2025 –
PCB has started preparations for the Champions Trophy. PCB is getting the stadiums ready. ICC recently sent a team of five officials to Pakistan. They went to review the preparations. ICC has set the date of 31 January 2025 before PCB. It has to complete all the preparations before that.

Poor performance of the team is a headache for PCB –
The Pakistan cricket team has not yet recovered after the ODI World Cup 2023. The team is constantly struggling with poor performance. It also had to face defeat in the T20 World Cup 2024. Even Bangladesh defeated it 2-0 in the Test series on its own ground. Therefore, the Pakistan Cricket Board will definitely work on a new plan for the Champions Trophy.
