The police has arrested the accused who created a fake Facebook ID in the name of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. Last month, a fake ID went viral in the name of CM Sai. By creating the ID, the accused had hatched a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the CM and earn money through illegal means. On receiving the complaint, the police took action and have arrested two accused so far. Both the accused are residents of Rajasthan.
In fact, a fake Facebook ID was created by misusing the name and photo of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. The fake ID was being run with the aim of tarnishing the image by adding friends to the ID and earning money by fraud. On information, a report was registered against the unknown accused in the Range Cyber Police Station Raipur under the IT Act. Taking this matter seriously, Inspector General of Police Raipur Range Amresh Mishra had instructed the team of Range Cyber Police Station to collect technical evidence and arrest the accused. On this, by doing technical analysis of the fake ID, success was achieved in identifying the unknown accused. The unknown accused was located in Rajasthan. The team members reached Rajasthan and traced the accused and arrested the accused Rakesh Parihar in the case. The accused told that he created a fake ID on Facebook of the Chief Minister (Chhattisgarh) and the then Chhattisgarh State BJP President in 2022. One mobile phone and SIM card used in the incident have been seized from the accused. In the area of Rajasthan where the police team conducted the raid, some people of that area used to create fake Facebook IDs by misusing the photos and names of prominent/important persons and carry out such incidents. The accused was arrested on 19 September and presented before the court for judicial custody.
