Under the joint aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Postal Department, the eighth post office passport service center of Chhattisgarh state was inaugurated in the sub-post office collectorate complex of Kanker district. The chief guest of the program, Kanker Lok Sabha MP Shri Bhojraj Nag inaugurated the first post office passport service center of Bastar division in the district office complex today. After the inauguration of the passport service center, he provided the process file to Shri Syed Shakir Ali, a resident of Keshkal in Kondagaon district, who had come to make a passport.

MP Shri Nag congratulated all the residents of the region and said that this is a big achievement for the Bastar region. Just as Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has increased the respect of India in the country and the world, similarly, with the opening of the passport office here, citizens will also get a chance to travel within the country and abroad and the doors of progress will open. With the inauguration of this office, new avenues of employment will open. He appealed to more and more people to take advantage of this service. MLA Smt. Savitri Mandavi said that with the opening of this passport service centre, the residents of the region will not need to go to the capital and time and money will also be saved. Joint Secretary and Chief Passport Officer of the Ministry of External Affairs, Dr. K.J. Srinivas (Indian Foreign Service) said that it is very important for remote areas like Kanker. In today’s global era, the number of people going abroad has increased and for this, passport is a necessary and important document. Due to the increasing demand for passports, the Government of India is opening a passport service centre with the cooperation of the Postal Department. In this sequence, it was opened in Kanker today. He heartily congratulated the people of Kanker region. OSD of Ministry of External Affairs, Lieutenant Colonel Sanjeev Kumar said that the objective of the Government of India is to provide passport services to citizens of far flung areas of the country through Passport Seva Kendra. He said that more and more people will benefit from the opening of this centre.
It is noteworthy that apart from Kanker district, residents of Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Dhamtari and Balod districts will get the benefit of this passport service center. Process files were also distributed to Najiba Fatima, Abdul Ghani, Maryam Fatima, Rukaiya Fatima from this center. On this occasion, Collector Mr. Nilesh Kumar Mahadev Kshirsagar, former Chairman of Fisheries Welfare Board Mr. Bharat Matiara, Councilor Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Kaushik, Mr. Haldhar Sahu, Regional Passport Officer Bhopal Mr. Shitanshu Chaurasia, DPS of Postal Services Mr. Dinesh Kumar Mistry and a large number of dignitaries were present.
