Three new financial assistance schemes are being run by the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Finance and Development Corporation under the Tribal Affairs Department. Through Bhagwan Birsa Munda Self-Employment Scheme, Tantya Mama Economic Welfare Scheme and Chief Minister Scheduled Tribe Special Project Financing Scheme, vigorous efforts are being made for the overall welfare of the tribal youth by linking them with self-employment. Under these three schemes, 43 crore 39 lakh 20 thousand 620 rupees have been given to the tribal youth in the form of self-employment establishment and financing.

MP Tribal Finance and Development Corporation received a total of 6 thousand 463 applications till 31 March 2024 against the annual target of 1000 beneficiaries in ‘Bhagwan Birsa Munda Self-Employment Scheme’. Out of these, 1094 applications were approved by the banks and financial assistance of Rs 33 crore 70 lakh 47 thousand 620 was given to 904 tribal brothers. Under the scheme, tribal youth are given financial assistance of one lakh to 50 lakh rupees for manufacturing activities and one lakh to 25 lakh rupees for service and business activities. For this, the annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 12 lakh. In the scheme, the interest subsidy at the rate of 5 percent per annum on the remaining loan distributed by the bank to the beneficiaries and the bank loan guarantee fee is borne by the corporation including the moratorium period for a maximum of 7 years at the prevailing rate. Training is also given to the interested candidates in the scheme. It is being implemented through ‘Samasta Portal’.

On the portal, this scheme is coordinated with the ‘Mukhyamantri Udyam Kranti Yojana’. At the district level, the scheme is being implemented through Assistant Commissioner/District Coordinator/Branch Manager, Madhya Pradesh Tribal Finance and Development Corporation and General Manager, District Trade and Industry Centers. Under the scheme, annual targets have been given to the banks of all the districts for the year 2024-25. Instructions regarding the implementation of the scheme have also been issued to the concerned officials. Interested persons can submit online applications from the portal.

Against the annual target of 10 thousand beneficiaries of ‘Tantya Mama Arthik Kalyan Yojana’, the corporation received 7 thousand 116 applications till 31 March 2024. Banks approved 1130 applications and provided financial assistance of more than 5 crore 8 lakh rupees to 908 tribal brothers. Under the scheme, tribal youth are given financial assistance for self-employment projects ranging from 10 thousand to one lakh rupees. The government gives 7 percent interest subsidy and bank guarantee for a maximum period of 5 years on bank loan.

Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Scheduled Tribe Special Project Financing Scheme’, 100% funding is provided to projects of up to Rs 2 crore for livelihood, self-employment and community infrastructure construction and other related activities of tribal youth, which cannot be implemented under any existing scheme/project of line departments. The scheme is being implemented by line departments/Collector. So far 8 special projects have been approved under the scheme. In this, a loan of Rs 4 crore 60 lakh 73 thousand has been given to self-employed tribal people for project implementation.
