Rajinikanth’s film 2.0, which came in 2018, was a blockbuster hit. In the film, Rajinikanth played the role of a robot named Chitti and Akshay Kumar was seen playing the role of a villain named Pakshirajan. This film was the second part of Rajinikanth’s film ‘Robot’ released in 2010. Few people know that Aamir Khan was offered the role for part-2 (2.0) of the film, but he rejected the role, after which finally Rajinikanth played this character.
Aamir Khan got the role of Chitti
Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan told in an interview with Komal Nhata that the film’s director S. Shankar called him and asked him to please do this film. Aamir Khan told that Rajinikanth felt that he would not be able to do the second part of the film, due to which he wanted some other actor to play the lead role in 2.0. But then when Aamir Khan started preparing himself for the film, something happened due to which he decided to leave the film.
He called back and said, I will not be able to do it
Aamir Khan told in the interview, “Whenever I closed my eyes, I saw Rajni sir in that role. I could not imagine myself playing that role. Then I called Shankar and told him that Shankar, I will not be able to do this role. Only Rajni sir can do this role. It is impossible to replace him. At least I will not be able to do it.” Aamir Khan told that I had seen the first part and I liked it very much, and the way he had created that character was completely imprinted in my mind.
This problem was happening during rehearsal
Aamir Khan said, “Whenever I was rehearsing my lines for preparation, I was just imagining Rajni sir all the time. I was not able to see myself in that character.” Aamir Khan said that it was not at all easy for me to leave that role because I knew very well that this film was going to be the biggest hit. When he was asked why did you refuse? He said – I would not have been able to do that role. I can’t do it.
