Railway women’s team first, men’s team second in 63rd National Open Athletics

The 63rd National Open Athletics (Women and Men) Championship 2024 has been organized in Bangalore city of Karnataka from 30 August to 2 September. In this competition, the Indian Railways team performed brilliantly and secured first place in the women’s category and second place in the men’s category. The Railways team representing both the categories in this competition included three players each from South East Central Railway.

Among these male players of South East Central Railway, Florence Barla won gold medal in 400 meters, Ritesh Ohre Kiran won gold medal in 1500 meters, Ravi won gold medal in hammer throw. Similarly, among female players, Diksha won silver medal in 1500 meters, Yogita won bronze medal in shot put, Abhilash Saxena won silver medal in shot put.

Along with Indian Railways, South East Central Railway has always encouraged sports and sportspersons. As a result, male and female players have brought laurels to the country as well as South East Central Railway. Along with this, South East Railway has left its mark in various national and international competitions.

The team of Indian Railways and South East Central Railway included in it have been congratulated by the General Manager, South East Central Railway and the officials for their excellent performance and achievement and have been encouraged for even better performance in future.
