Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated Indian athletes Deepti Jeevanjee, Ajeet Singh, Sundar Singh Gurjar, Sharad Kumar and Mariyappan Thangavelu for winning medals in various events at the Paris Paralympics. “Congratulations to Deepti Jeevanjee on winning the Bronze Medal in the Women’s 400m T20 event at the Paralympics 2024. She is a source of inspiration for countless people. Her skill and determination are commendable,” Modi wrote on the social media platform Instagram.
Congratulating the winners of the javelin throw event in another post series, he said, “Phenomenal achievement by Ajeet Singh, he won the silver medal in the men’s javelin throw F46 event at Paralympics 2024. His commitment and perseverance towards the sport has made India proud.”
He posted, “Great performance by Sundar Singh Gurjar, winning bronze medal in the men’s javelin throw F46 event at Paralympics 2024. His dedication and passion is amazing. Congratulations for this achievement.”
Congratulating the winners of the high jump event, the Prime Minister wrote, “Sharad Kumar won the silver medal in men’s high jump T63 at Paralympics 2024. He deserves praise for his consistency and excellence. Congratulations to him. He inspires the entire nation.”
“Congratulations to Mariyappan Thangavelu on winning the bronze medal in the men’s high jump T63 event. It is commendable that he has won medals in three consecutive editions of the Paralympics. His skill, consistency and determination are extraordinary,” he posted.
