Indian golfer Veer Ahlawat started the week well and carded four-under 67 in the first round of the USD 500,000 Indonesia Open golf tournament to be placed tied 10th.
Ahlawat made five birdies and one bogey. He is six shots behind leader Aaron Wilkin, who set a new record here by scoring 10-under 61.
Among the Indian players, after Ahlawat, Saptak Talwar, Varun Chopra and Khalin Joshi come who scored the same 69. These three players are in joint 30th place. Among other Indian players, Angad Cheema (70) is in joint 53rd place. S Chikkarangappa, SSP Chawrasia and Rashid Khan played even par 71 and are in joint 66th place.
Yuvraj Sandhu (72) is tied for 87th while Gaganjeet Bhullar (73) and Karandeep Kochhar (73) are tied for 104th. Ajeetesh Sandhu and Honey Baisoya both carded identical 76 and are tied for 129th after the first round.
