Travelling to Thailand by telling a lie has proved very costly for a Mumbai student. The situation has reached such a point that now a case of fraud has been registered against her. Currently, the police is investigating the matter. It is reported that the student who was trying to hide about the trip had tampered with the passport, due to which she is facing problems.

According to the report, the 25-year-old student studies fashion. On Thursday, she reached Mumbai airport to fly to Singapore, where the investigators stopped her. According to the report, the police say that the immigration officials found 4 pages missing from her passport and after that this action was taken. The student has been identified as SS Ghatol.

Ghatol, a first year student, was going to travel on a tourist visa for internship. The special thing is that she had tampered with her passport to hide the fact of her Thailand trip from her institute. According to the report, Ghatol had traveled to Thailand between February 11 and February 14. In a conversation, a police officer said that she had sought exemption from appearing in the exam saying that she was not well.

Immigration officer Sujit Patil said that Ghatol was afraid that her lie would be caught when the institute asked her to submit her passport for the internship in Singapore. A case of fraud and violation of the Passport Act has been registered against the student.

Passport pages torn to hide affair

A similar case came to light in the year 2022, where a man from Pune tore some pages of his passport to hide his foreign trip from his wife. According to media reports, he had gone abroad to meet his girlfriend and was hiding his extramarital affair, but he did not know that damaging the passport is a crime. The police then arrested him.
