Flowers are used for home, temples, weddings and decoration along with other purposes. Flowers are a symbol of faith and emotion. Different types of flowers are also planted in home orchards, gardens and pots. The mind becomes happy by seeing beautiful and fragrant flowers early in the morning. To motivate women of remote forest areas towards flower cultivation and to provide them employment opportunities, the Horticulture Department is also providing free saplings. 45 didis of self-help group of Dantewada district are moving ahead by cultivating flowers in about 4 acres of land.
Under the district administration and Bihaan Yojana, the sisters of the women self-help group of the district have been trained by the Horticulture Department to cultivate flowers. This training was given to the sisters in the villages of Tudparas, Bhogam, Bhairamband of Dantewada district. After flower production, the women groups will make garlands and bouquets from the flowers and sell them in the courtyard of Maa Danteshwari Temple Dantewada, so that they can earn additional income by earning profit by doing good farming. Under the guidance of Ajit Shasni, Director of Horticulture Department of Dantewada and CSIR National Botanical Research Institute Lucknow, 60 thousand plants of different types of flowers have been distributed to the sisters of the women group.
